This might be a HauntedVampire.com first: linking to an Andrew Sullivan blog post.

From The Daily Dish:

…Artist Damien Hirst’s platinum cast of a human skull is shown covered with 8,601 ethically sourced diamonds and is estimated to be worth over $50 million. Titled ‘For the Love of God’, the original skull was examined by forensic experts, who concluded that it was male, probably of European origin and about 35 years old at the time of death. Radiocarbon analysis suggests that he lived some time between 1720 and 1810.

A bit too garish for my library, but if I had an antique hearse, I’d want this skull as a hood ornament.

Off topic, one of my closest friends was members in a gym in Washington, D.C., with Sullivan. I always tried to get my friend to put some BenGay or IcyHot in Sullivan’s jock strap, but my friend claims he never got the chance.

I love this piece so much I cannot stop looking at it over the past few days. If this heralds a horror-related high art movement I will throw a gigantic party.
